Malden artists Kari Percival and Greg Cook are organizing the “Let It Snow: Santas Against Global Warming” group—in collaboration with the Malden Public Library, Triangle Inc., Bike To The Sea, and You!—to walk in Malden’s annual Parade of Holiday Traditions at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.
We’re worried that global warming is melting the North Pole—Santa Claus’s home! Help us spread the word by joining us in the parade—and reaching out to thousands of our neighbors.
The lineup for the parade is at 1:30 p.m. next to the Salemwood School, 529 Salem St.,Malden, Massachusetts. No experience necessary. Just show up. But, you know, preferably, let us know in advance. We’ll have extra signs and masks—like those pictured here. Or come dressed as your favorite Arctic animal. Kids can ride on bikes or scooters, or ride in carriages or wagons.
In preparation, we did free parade craft workshops at the Malden Public Library on Nov. 21 (pictured here—Percival designed the masks and is wearing the reindeer one in the photo immediately below) and at Triangle, Inc. (a Malden nonprofit that “empowers people with disabilities”) on Nov. 23. Thanks to all who came.
