“Great art can be found everywhere if you look hard enough,” ArtSpace Maynard Executive Director Jerry Beck says in a press release for their exhibition “Metal-ity.” “I felt like a human metal detector searching for treasures in major cities and small towns, on the internet, in people’s basements, in schools, even in junk yards.”

“Metal-ity,” which continues through Oct. 1, 2021, showcases more than 100 metal artworks by well-established sculptors and self-taught artists from across New England as well as local high school welding students. Adapting for coronavirus, the exhibition is outdoors, sprawling across the lawns surrounding the Summer Street building, with a friendly, jumbly feeling something like a folk art yard show.
