Monday, June 13
7:20 to 7:45 a.m. and 1:30 to 2 p.m. “Stand Vigilant” demonstration at Burke High School, 60 Washington St., Dorchester. “In response to the daytime shooting that took the life of Raekwon Brown and injured 3 others,” writes organizer Carols Henriquez. “To show the students of the Burke and the young people of our community that we care. We may not have all the solutions in hand but we stand vigilant in our support and protection of our youth.”
6 p.m. Vigil for the victims of Orlando massacre at Boston City Hall Plaza.

Tuesday, June 14
6 to 8 p.m. Opening reception for Boston artist Pat Falco’s “Boston Campaign Headquarters” installation (pictured at top) at Faneuil Hall, 4 South Market Building, Boston. The public artwork is scheduled to stay on view throughout the summer.
7 p.m. Mary-Kim Arnold reads poetry at Ada Books, Providence.

Wednesday, June 15
5 to 8 p.m. “Beer Garden on the Bricks” at Boston City Hall Plaza.
5:30 p.m. Taste of Somerville in Davis Square.
6 p.m. David McCullough and expert historian Brent D. Glass, Director Emeritus of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, will discuss the importance of experiencing and preserving our essential historic sites and their stories. At Old South Meeting House, Boston. Relating to Glass’s book (with intro by McCulloch) “50 Great American Places: Essential Historic Sites Across the U.S.”
7:30 p.m. Broad Appeal Comedy Night at Arts at the Armory, Somerville.

Thursday, June 16
6 to 8 p.m. Evelyn Rydz and Resa Blatman art exhibit opening reception at Michele Mercaldo Jewelry, 276 Shawmut Ave., Boston.
7 p.m. Anne Proulx reads from her new novel “Barkskins” at First Parish Church, 1446 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, in this Harvard Book Store event.
7 p.m. Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” performed by It’s a Fiasco in Danehy Park, Cambridge. Free. Again on June 17, 19 and 19 at 7p.m. with a matinee on June 18 at 2 p.m.

6 to 10 p.m. Donna Summer Celebration of Summer Roller Disco Party at Boston City Hall Plaza. Free. Includes remarks at 8 p.m. by Boston Chief of Arts and Culture Julie Burros to mark the release of the Boston Creates cultural plan for the city.
6 to 9 p.m. “ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (The Shrug Show)” opening reception at Dorchester Art Project, 1486 Dorchester Ave. #2, Boston. “New works by 9 Boston-based artists who are responding to the cultural presence of the ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ emoticon.” The show runs through July 9.
