Our friends at Vermont’s Bread and Puppet Theater bring their new performance “The Hope Principle Show: Citizens’ Shame and Hope in the Time of Genocide” to Massachusetts over the next couple weeks “with mother dirt prologue, citizen despair gymnastics, massmurder victim’s traditional dance of death celebration, absentee humanity dance,” director and founder Peter Schumann says. “Featuring a flock of disaster ravens and hope principle caribou and exorcism rites for the genociders.”
Bread and Puppet perform the experimental theater show with puppets and masks, plus live music, at Somerville’s Center for the Arts at the Armory on Thursday, April 18; at UMass Amherst on Friday, April 19; at Mayo Street Arts in Portland, Maine, on Saturday, April 20; and at the Worcester Firehouse on Sunday, April 21.
