Artist, illustrator, author, and activist Edie Fake, who resides in Twentynine Palms, California, is featured in “On the Wall: Edie Fake” at Providence College’s Reilly Gallery, Smith Center for the Arts in Providence from March 29 to Sept. 30, 2023.

“Having grown up queer and trans in a Catholic household, Fake is interested in spaces where one can hold and reflect upon complexity,” the college says. “In his pursuit to create such a place at Providence College Galleries, Fake combines inspiration culled from visits to the hermitages of Catholic monks and also by his own home in the desert. The result is a room-sized mural and custom-designed ‘reflection pools’ that emphasize the importance of self-knowledge and contemplation.”
