Spotted an osprey eating what looked like a fish along the Saugus River and Northern Strand Community Trail in Saugus today, April 8, 2022. Also saw red-wing blackbirds, geese, grackles, ducks and egrets as I kayaked the Saugus River from Saugus’s Stocker Playground, just upstream of Lincoln Avenue and Boston Street at the Lynn-Saugus Line, to the rapids just upstream of Saugus Iron Works. The journey was part of research for nature videos we’re making for children. See our previous videos here .
