The 2021 International Sand Sculpting Festival at Revere Beach celebrated the 125th anniversary of the country’s first public beach. From Aug. 6 to 8, Sue McGrew, of Tacoma, Washington; Abe Waterman of Prince Edward Island, Canada; and other sculptors from across North America shaped scenes celebrating that history–including the long-gone Wonderland Amusement Park that was at the beach in the early 20th century. The annual festival had been cancelled in summer 2020 to stem the spread of covid.
