We had a great time with everyone making reindeer masks at the Malden Public Library on Nov. 18. The workshop was part of preparing to be “Reindeer Against Global Warming” in Malden’s annual Parade of Holiday Traditions beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. Join Kari Percival and me as part of a group of families and concerned citizens working to “Save Winter.” (This is what we looked like last year.) The project is funded in part by The Malden Cultural Council.
To be part of the parade, meet us at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Malden’s Salemwood School, where the parade begins. Dress in warm, festive colors (red!). We will have extra masks, Santa beards, signs and banners that need enthusiastic parade dancers to hold them.
Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. The parade route is 1.6 miles long. Bikes, scooters and strollers are welcome for little feet. Don’t forget to bring a snack and a drink. At the end of the parade route there will be hot cocoa and cookies where the parade ends at the Malden Teen Center, and then a tree lighting in front of the Malden Public Library. Hope to see you!
