“President Trump was scary on the campaign trail,” said Cole Harrison, executive director of Massachusetts Peace Action, “but when we see who he’s appointing to high office, we see how dangerous this man really is.”
He was speaking at the “Protect our White House – from racism, sexism, bigotry, and hate” rally in front of the Massachusetts State House in Boston this evening as the sun set. Some 40 people gathered for the candle-lit rally organized by Massachusetts Peace Action student groups to oppose Donald Trump’s appointments of Steve Bannon, Jeff Sessions, Michael Flynn and others to top government leadership positions. Another speaker said that the group fears that such appointments “will result in discriminatory policies.”
Harrison described Flynn, Trump’s choice for National Security Advisor, as “a man obsessed with conspiracy theories. He does not have a grip on reality. … And yet this is a man who is going to be guiding the national security policy of the United States. … This cannot stand.”
