Back in February, I visited the screenprinting studio of James Weinberg in Somerville, Mass. Usually he works on paper, but he’d been experimenting with printing silkscreens on panels (like “Elk (1/3)” above and the two images at bottom) for the exhibit “5 to 9: The double lives of commercial artists” at 13Forest Gallery in Arlington, Mass. There his art is on view from March 19 to May 13, 2016, alongside work by Daniel Benayun, Josh Luke, Kenji Nakayama and Nina Wishnok. And Weinberg is giving a free screenprinting demonstration at the gallery from 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, April 9.
