Matthew Lawrence of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lawandorder.party\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Law And Order Party<\/a>, the weekly listing of happenings in (or very close to) Rhode Island (<a href=\"https:\/\/party.us10.list-manage.com\/subscribe?u=4327abdb9cad5b83398629162&amp;id=422ae3c34f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sign up here<\/a>), organizes the contest to celebrate the best art, music, drama, books, film, and performance from the Ocean State. Categories range from \u201cLoud Artist of the Year\u201d to \u201cQuiet Artist of the Year,\u201d and a lot of stuff in between.<\/p>\n<p>The way it works is subscribers of the Law and Order Party email list were invited to submit nominations in October covering projects from Sept. 1, 2017, to Aug. 31, 2018. In late October, voting began\u2014including picks by readers and \u201cfive juries of people who are experts in specific fields.
