{"id":9047,"date":"2018-10-19T11:15:24","date_gmt":"2018-10-19T15:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gregcookland.com\/wonderland\/?p=9047"},"modified":"2018-10-19T11:52:19","modified_gmt":"2018-10-19T15:52:19","slug":"mice-comics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gregcookland.com\/wonderland\/2018\/10\/19\/mice-comics\/","title":{"rendered":"Eight New England Cartoonists To Meet At This Weekend\u2019s MICE Comics Fest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many comics conventions are basically trade shows focused on selling books and memorabilia, but this weekend\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.micexpo.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE)<\/a> was founded in 2010 to focus on the artists\u2014with creators selling their own works and presenting talks and workshops. The free-admission event has grown so that now it attracts creators from New York to Texas to California\u2014including this year Vera Brosgol (\u201cAnya\u2019s Ghost\u201d), Jim Woodring (\u201cThe Frank Book\u201d), and Keith Knight (\u201cThe K Chronicles\u201d). But at MICE\u2019s heart are artists working here in New England. Like \u201cLittle Comis 4,\u201d debuting at MICE, featuring \u201cshort gag comics about computers, weed and coffee.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9055\" into a magical forest where she begins to transition from a child\u2019s wonder with the world to a professional scientist.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9050\"
