\u201cYogi Bear meets ‘Night of The Living Dead’\u201d is how Boston-area artist Ansis Puri\u0146\u0161<\/a> describes his
\ndrawings, paintings and comic books in his exhibition \u201cSuper Magic Forest\u201d<\/a> at Somerville\u2019s Washington Street Gallery through Dec. 30, 2017.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re related to the graphic novel he\u2019s been working on for a couple years that is set in a world inspired by tantalizingly glimpses of Saturday morning cartoons and Godzilla films that he mostly missed on television during his 1980s childhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t able to watch Saturday morning cartoons as a child,\u201d he has said. \u201cInstead, I had to attend Latvian school. \u2026 When I came home from Latvian school, I just had to recreate the precious images that I had caught on TV before they slipped away.\u201d<\/p>\n
