For World Day of Remembranc<\/a>e today, to honor those injured or killed in traffic crashes, particularly bicyclists, dozens of people rode bicycles from Boston\u2019s Copley Square to locations where bicyclists have been killed. They finished up at Boston Common, where they took part in a memorial walk through the park to the Massachusetts State House. There a vigil and rally was held\u2014with speakers promoting \u201cVision Zero<\/a>,\u201d a \u201cstrategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Organizers wrote on Facebook: \u201cThe vast majority of these crashes are preventable through engineering, education and enforcement. In numbers, we can recognize our loved ones, and also demand action from our elected officials.\u201d<\/p>\n
