A week and a half ago, we drove up to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge looking for thousands of tree swallows that were flocking along marshes on Boston’s North Shore. We didn’t find them that day, but when\u00a0we kayaked Rumney Marsh in Saugus today, we\u00a0found a dazzling murmuration of thousands of swallows. We also saw an osprey, snowy egrets and hundreds of fiddler crabs. Today’s voyage was part of research we’re doing to create a video about the nature of Rumney Marsh, with grant support from the Saugus Cultural Council.<\/p>\n
