Native American groups calling for the City of Boston to name\u00a0the second Monday of October “Indigenous Peoples Day” and abolish\u00a0celebrations of Christopher Columbus Day brought dozens of people to Boston City Hall yesterday for a rally.<\/p>\n

“We want people to know that we’re here, we need to be honored,” Mahtowin Munro, one of the organizers of the event, told the crowd. “And we need an apology. They’ve been celebrating our genocide for decades.”<\/p>\n
