The T-Rex outside Boston’s Museum of Science<\/a> and the Lego giraffe standing in front of Somerville’s Legoland Discovery Center<\/a> are now sporting masks, as communities continue to work to stem the spread of coronavirus.<\/p>\n

The Museum of Science reports that Savannah Hubbard, a senior media producer, spent 10 hours hand-sewing the 4.5-foot-tall mask for the dinosaur. Coronavirus precautions have kept the Boston museum closed since mid-March. “We have a set date yet as to when we will reopen, but, when we do, we will communicate this via our social media and to our entire community,” a spokesperson says.<\/p>\n

At Somerville’s Assembly Square mall, the giraffe outside Legoland is now sporting a mask too. The attraction’s “retail store is now open for in-store purchases and free curbside pickup. … The indoor attraction remains temporarily closed as mandated by Gov. Baker, and we remain in contact with the authorities on when we can re-open.”<\/p>\n
