{"id":11509,"date":"2012-11-05T18:51:35","date_gmt":"2012-11-05T23:51:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gregcookland.com\/wonderland\/?p=11509"},"modified":"2019-04-27T18:55:43","modified_gmt":"2019-04-27T22:55:43","slug":"beardfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gregcookland.com\/wonderland\/2012\/11\/05\/beardfest\/","title":{"rendered":"The Best Beards In The World \u2026 Or At Least Somerville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday\u2019s third annual <a href=\"http:\/\/somervilleartscouncil.org\/beardfest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cBeardFest\u201d<\/a> determined the best beards in the world \u2026 or at least Somerville.<\/p>\n<p>The event, organized by the Somerville Arts Council, drew more than three dozen beardies from across New England to compete for the best natural full beard, free-style full beard, free-style moustache, free-style partial beard, and fake beard at Arts at the Armory in Somerville.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI came in fourth place in the nationals in Oregon two years ago,\u201d said Brian McGregor, dressed like a circus ringmaster with a whip, top hat and red coat and carrying a toy white tiger.
