Pages from Juliette Collet’s sexy psychedelic space adventure comic “Bobbie Cadet In The Court Of The Ladybugs” are on view at White Columns in New York from Sept. 12 to Oct. 24, 2026. You can find Collet’s “human comics for a post-human world.” at https://www.peacecomics.net/. Rendered in acrylic paint and pencil, mainly on 18-by-12-inch paper, the comics feel like racy rainbows-and-peace-hearts dreams in the tradition of the 1968 film “Barbarella,” based on Jean-Claude Forest’s erotic French sci-fi comic. Bobbie awakes when she is urgently requested on the Pink Planet, gets lost in a “Forest of Tentacle Monster Arms” (as someone commented on Instagram), is captured by a weirdo who demands she “submit to me,” to which she, of course, responds: “Never.” Knock-out drugs and captivity and exploitation. Bobbie: “I think degradation only works on people with self-respect.”
