Hans Rickheit is an excellent draftsman who creates comics set in unsettling erotic steampunk worlds of lithe young women and troll-like men and insectile cyborg prosthetics. His art can slither into your mind, all Freudianly suggestive, velvety Victorian mechanical weirdness, monsters, ruins, sexual, orifices, multiple limbs, body horror, perverse haunted dreams.

At Outpost 186 in Cambridge though the end of June 2026, you can explore rooms full of digital prints based on his pen and ink drawings that he colors via computer. (Contact Rickheit via facccebook to arrange a viewing.) Born in 1974, Rickheit resides in Orange, Massachusetts. He is the creator of comics including “Cochlea & Eustachia,” “Delia,” “Mechanical Stilt Women of Mars,” “Chrome Fetus,” and “The Squirrel Machine.” This show offers stand-alone images, often related to his comics.
