Except for categories like writing about art or historical research published about art, I can't begin to tell you how objectionable I find this insistent need to select "winners" among practicing artists.
Awards for life achievement in practice or teaching is one thing but our incessant need to create more academy award-like prizes is detrimental to what artists are about. Are you distributing golden paint brushes too?
